Maesa and Dalal create soulful scores and soundtracks for Film and TV. When these composers combine forces, the sound woven is at once haunting and dreamy. Apart from their composing talents, they are both gifted singer-songwriters. Dalal has a background in classical, piano, strings, EDM, and pop, while Maesa comes from a more folk/americana/rocknroll realm. Dalal and Maesa both have a keen sense of story which has led them to create illuminating custom scores for a growing number of films. The two first began working together on Jaclyn Bethany's desolate, psychological relationship drama, Indigo Valley, the soundtrack of which was released via The Orchard, December 2019. This collaboration garnered the composing duo two HMMA award nominations for Best Original Score for Independent Film as well as Best Original Song for single, Braided. Since this consummate project, Dalal and Maesa have gone on to score Under the Lantern Lit Sky, a prequel to Tennessee Williams' Streetcar Named Desire set in 1920s Mississippi, and Highway One, a psychedelic New Years Eve party vibrating with Slavic folk, Russian rap, and 90's grunge. Dalal and Maesa work closely with producer, engineer, mixer, Jason Hiller, at Electrosound Studios. Electrosound is a wonderland for realizing the wildest of musical whims with a library of instruments and the capability to record on analogue tape machines. As a team, Maesa, Dalal, and Jason produce pieces that are always of supreme quality, creatively and technically.
